Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, has said it was necessary to move ahead by carrying out self-review so that police organisation could be more effective and successful. Home Minister Shrestha said it while honouring the Senior Sub-Inspector, Purushottam Nepali, who successfully scaled the Mt Everest marking the 100th anniversary of INTERPOL, at the Police Headquarters on Friday.
On the occasion, he viewed, “Police organisation has to fulfill its responsibility by keeping the nation and people in the centre. The government will be successful if Nepal Police carries out activities focusing itself in the service of the people and nation.” Senior Sub-Inspector Nepali climbed the Mt Everest on May 16. A total of 195 countries are now the members of INTERPOL. Nepal had decided to mark 100th anniversary of INTERPOL with the Sagarmatha summit.
Congratulating climber Nepali, DPM Shrestha stated, “I want to congratulate Purushottam Nepali for giving an opportunity to make Nepal Police and Nepal government proud.” He urged the Police organisation to be aware that none of the accused would be spared and none of the innocent would be implicated. The Home Minister mentioned that the government has been advancing corruption control and good governance in an effective way.
