CHITWAN: The Chitwan National Park (CNP) has rescued six tigers from different areas in the current fiscal year.

According to Information Officer at CNP, Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, three among the rescued tigers were released in the national park.

He further shared the troubled and wounded tigers were rescued. The tigers rescued were released in the core area of the national park after observing their situation.

Among the rescued jungle cats, one was sent to the Banke National Park and another to the Parsa National Park while one is being treatment, he informed.

Most of the rescued tigers breathed their last during treatment. Likewise, the wild beasts are released in the national park after finding noticeable changes in their behaviors.

CPN sources said those rescued this year included four male and two female tigers. Last year, CNP had rescued seven troubled and wounded tigers. Two among them died during treatment while four were discharged to the forest after behavioral changes.

There are 128 tigers at CNP as per the recent count, it is informed.
