JHAPA: Two bike riders died in a head-on collision between two motorcycles.
One person was injured in the accident last night in Mechinagar municipality.
The accident occurred at around 11:25 p.m. at Pipaldangi in ward no. 12 of Mechinagar municipality in the Mechi Highway, police said.
A motorcycle (Pra. 1-01-014 Pa 3350) coming from north towards the south collided with another motorcycle (Pra. 1-01-014 Pa 2678) coming from the opposite direction, the District Police Office said.
Krishna Prasad Sigdel, 38, of Kankai municipality-4 and Bishnu Thapa, 45, of Arjundhara municipality-4, succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at the B&C Hospital in Birtamod.
Likewise, 53-year-old Ram Bahadur Adhikari of Kankai-4, who was pillion riding was injured.
He is undergoing treatment for injuries to various parts of his body. Further investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
