KATHMANDU: The Department of Revenue Investigation has seized a huge quantity of gold from Tribhuvan International Airport area that had passed undetected through the customs this evening.
According to the Department, around 80-100 kilogrammes of yellow metal was confiscated in course of conducting raid based on a special information.
Director General of the Department, Nabaraj Dhungana, said that three persons were arrested on the charge of their involvement in smuggling the gold. It is said that the gold was brought from Hong Kong.
Other details of the incident would be revealed by tomorrow as further investigation was underway, he shared.
