RUPANDEHI: Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand underscored the need for adherence to the Constitution to maintain good governance in the nation.
Speaking at a program in Butwal, Khand said good governance would be promoted in society only if the provisions of the constitution are abided to.
He also stated that the authority who should abide by the Constitution violated it.
“It is unfortunate that thousands of Nepalis are in a state of statelessness,” he said.
People are facing difficulty even buying a mobile SIM card for not having citizenship, according to Home Minister Khand.
He said the government brought the Citizenship Bill based on the constitutional provision that no Nepali citizen would be deprived of citizenship.
Home Minister also said that all should pledge allegiance to the Constitution and follow good governance.
Good governance cannot be there without adherence to the constitution, he said.
