KATHMANDU: The Maha Nawami festival on the occasion of Dashain is being observed on Tuesday by offering special worship to Goddess Durga.
This day is marked on the ninth day of the waxing moon in Asoj (Nepali month) as per the lunar calendar.
The ‘Jamara’ that was kept for germination on the day of Ghatasthapana (first day of Dashain) is offered to Goddesses today.
People also worship at Dashainghar and other temples of Goddesses where he-goats, pigeons, ducks, and even he-buffaloes are sacrificed.
