Kathmandu: Minister for Health and Population, Mohan Bahadur Basnet, met with his Egyptian counterpart, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, at the New Administrative Capital in Cairo, Egypt.
They discussed various dimensions of Nepal-Egypt relations and bilateral cooperation. Minister Basnet is in Egypt to participate in the World Conference on Health, Population and Development, in 2023.
Minister Basnet talked about Nepal’s achievements in the health and population sector and expressed gratitude towards the Egyptian government for providing scholarships to Nepali students.
He also expressed the belief that financial, technical, and people-level relations between the two countries would be further strengthened.
Egyptian Minister Ghaffar shared that there was a friendly relationship between Nepal and Egypt and thanked the Nepali delegation for its participation in the conference.
He mentioned the possibility of expanding cooperation in different sectors, including health and population.
Minister Basnet also held an interaction with Nepalis living in Cairo, where he pointed out the immense possibilities for increasing cooperation in the medical and agriculture sectors between Nepal and Egypt.
