KATHMANDU: The government has honored Seven Summit Treks (SST) for their outstanding contributions to the trekking and expedition industry in Nepal on World Tourism Day.
The Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati, honored Chhang Dawa Sherpa, the Director of Seven Summit Treks, acknowledging SST as the largest contributor among expedition company in the country.
According to official data from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Civil Aviation, Seven Summit Treks made a substantial financial contribution of 4.3 million USD directly to the government in the last fiscal year. This contribution was a result of bringing numerous world-renowned mountaineers to Nepal for various expeditions.
Established in 2010, Seven Summit Treks has consistently organized and managed some of the most significant mountaineering expeditions in the Himalayan and Karakoram regions.
Their dedication to excellence has significantly contributed to Nepal’s reputation as a premier destination for adventure tourism.
SST’s recognition as the largest contributor in the expedition sector has inspired and motivated Nepal’s mountaineering communities. It highlights the potential for growth and success within the country’s adventure tourism industry.
Moreover, World Tourism Day, celebrated annually on September 27th, is dedicated to promoting the accessibility of tourism for all individuals. This year, the theme is ‘Promoting Accessible Tourism for All,’ emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and equal opportunities within the tourism sector.
