KATHMANDU: Seven Summit Treks, one of the largest expedition operator of Nepal’s Chairman Mingma Sherpa and his cousin Nima Rinji Sherpa have successfully climbed Mt Dhaulagir (8167m). Mt Dhaulagiri is the 7th highest mountain in the world.

Nima is the son of renowned tourism enterprenier and mountaineer Takshi Lakpa Sherpa.

Similarly, Mingma Sherpa became the first person from Nepal and the first South Asian to scale all 14 of the highest mountains. In the process, he set a new world record by becoming the first mountaineer to climb all 14 peaks on the first attempt. Mingma Sherpa and his brother, Chhang Dawa Sherpa, hold the Guinness World Records of the world’s first two brothers to successfully summit the 14 eight thousanders.

Apart from them, Tenjen Sherpa (Lama), Mingtemba Sherpa (without oxygen), Pasang Nurbu Sherpa (without oxygen), Alina Pekova from Russia, Alasdair Mckenzie from France, Hoeskuldur Tryggvason (Hoddi) from Iceland, Moeses Fiamoncini from Brazil (without Oxygen), Pasang Dawa Sherpa, Nangba Sherpa, Mingma Nurbu Sherpa, Pemba Dorchi Sherpa have also successfully attemt the feat.
