Kathmandu, Nov 1: The USAID Nepal has facilitated an interaction between people from the WYM (Women, Youth and Marginalised) Communities and editors/senior journalists in Dhanusa district. The program aims to strengthen the voices of the WYM communities and to promote inclusion and equity in Nepal, said the USAID Nepal.
The interaction provided an opportunity for the participants to learn more about the experiences and perspectives of the people from the underserved communities, and to discuss ways to have their voices in the media, said the participants. The event was fruitful in gaining a deeper understanding of the challenges facing people from the marginalised communities, they shared while expressing their commitment to using their platform to increase their voices.
Offering their gratefulness for the opportunities given, they expressed the hope that the interaction would lead to more inclusive and representative media coverage.
