KATHMANDU: In a thrilling finale at the Bhelositi ACI Ground in Ratopul, Kathmandu, Chitah Chejars emerged victorious in the men’s category, securing the Savitri Kanchanjanga MPL cricket title. Going head-to-head against Golden Eagles, Chitah Chejars set a formidable target of 153 runs in 16 overs. Golden Eagles, in response, fell short, managing only 130 runs and losing all their wickets in 15 overs. Chitah Chejars claimed the championship with a outstanding 23-run lead.
Meanwhile, in the women’s category, Fire Fighters triumphed over Game Changers, clinching the Savitri Kanchanjanga MPL title. The Fire Fighters, batting first, faced a few setbacks, losing 3 wickets in 10 overs but resiliently posted a score of 82 runs. Game Changers, in pursuit of the target of 83 runs, struggled and could only muster 44 runs, losing 5 wickets in 10 overs.
This historic MPL season marked the first time the tournament adopted the format of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
In the competition, five men teams have participated while 4 women teams take part to make fortune.
