Kathmandu, Dec 29: The police have arrested 54 people in connection with the torching of the car used by Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Development Prakash Jwala.

Nepali youths protesting over the issue of the EPS language test torched the car (Ba 2 Jha 5861) used minister Jwala today in Balkumari, Lalitpur.

The agitating youths numbered hundreds demonstrating on the Balkumari-Satdobato road took out the minister and his personal secretary before torching the vehicle (Ba 2 Jha 5861).

Following this incident, a clash ensued between the protesting youths and the police, killing a man identified as Sujan Raut, 23, and injuring over a dozen others. The police also opened fires and teargas shells aiming at the protestors.
