Kathmandu, Jan 2: Chairperson of Rastriya Swatantra Party Rabi Lamichhane has filed a case against the Kantipur Publications Pvt. Ltd.
Accusing the Publications of disseminating news that ‘insulted’ him, he has demanded Rs 151 as punishment and compensation as per Clause 307 of the National Penal Code 2017.
Publications’ Chair Kailash Sirohiya, Managing Director Sambhab Sirohiya, Editor-in-Chief Umesh Chauhan, ekantipur.com and the Kantipur Daily have been made defendants in the case.
Lately, the Publications has been running news reports about the misappropriation of millions of rupees by chair of Galaxy 4K television GB Rai through many cooperatives he owns. The news reports also accused Lamichhane of his involvement in the case. Responding to the accusation, Lamichhane has been defending himself by ruling out his involvement in any such case.
