Kathmandu, Jan 11: The government is set to declare orange as the national fruit. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, the declaration of orange as a national fruit was discussed in the meeting of the thematic committee as per the provisions of the “Federation, Province and Local Level (Coordination and Inter-relations) Act 2077”.
The meeting chaired by Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Dr Beduram Bhusal also discussed the declaration of the investment decade in the agricultural sector, said the ministry. In this regard, the ministry held a discussion with the agriculture minister and secretaries of the provincial government.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, in his address to the nation on December 26, 2023, marking the completion of one year of the incumbent government, said he would announce the investment decade in the agricultural sector.
