Kathmandu, Feb 3: Indian actor and model Poonam Pandey is alive. She confessed through Instagram that she faked her death to create awareness about cervical cancer.
“I feel compelled to share something significant with you all – I am here, alive. Cervical Cancer didn’t claim me, but tragically, it has claimed the lives of thousands of women who stemmed from a lack of knowledge on how to tackle this disease. Unlike some other cancers, Cervical Cancer is entirely preventable. The key lies in the HPV vaccine and early detection tests,” reads her Instagram post.
Earlier on Friday, the ‘fake’ news of her death shocked everyone who knows her.
Poonam from Kanpur first appeared in movie ‘Nasha’ in 2013. She was praised for her role in the movie where she played a teacher who get romantically involved with a student. Her latest professional appearance was in the first season of a reality show, ‘Lock Upp’ hosted by Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut.
