Kathmandu, Feb 11: Ambassador of the United States to Nepal, Dean R. Thompson has wrapped up his visit to the earthquake-hit Jajarkot.
During his trip, the Ambassador visited the earthquake affected communities, damaged schools, assessed the current situation post-quake, and discuss how the United States could best support Nepal’s recovery efforts, and address the most pressing needs of the region and people, according to the Embassy.
USAID’s newly announced $1.37 million award commitment will help bridge the gap between the government’s initial earthquake response and longer term recovery and reconstruction efforts, it added.
The United States expressed its commitment to building a brighter future for the people of Karnali.
