Kathmandu, March 7: In an act of benevolence, One Heart Worldwide, a nonprofit organisation, has provided essential aid to around 900 families affected by the November 3 earthquake in Jajarkot and Rukum West districts. The German Embassy in Kathmandu supported the initiative.
As part of the charity, 896 affected families, including pregnant women and infants from five quake-hit areas in the districts received the relief materials, said One Heart Worldwide. The relief materials included water tanks, dignity kits, winter kits, hygiene kits, kitchen utensils, corrugated iron sheets, and blankets.
Over 150 people have been reported dead, with hundreds more injured and thousands displaced.
The initiative is a part of One Heart Worldwide’s continuous contribution in helping the affected. In response to the quake, it has set up temporary birthing centers with tents with essential medical equipment and supplies to maintain service provision for pregnant mothers and newborn infants.
