Inaruwa, March 18: Property worth around millions of rupees was gutted by fire at Barju rural municipality-4 in Sunsari district on Sunday.
The fire started from a house of a local Bishnu Dev Paudar destroyed 15 houses and property worth around five million rupees was turned into ashes.
Houses of locals as well as furniture, clothes, food stuffs, utensils were destroyed by fire, said Deputy Superintendent of Police of Sunsari, Nabin Krishna Bhandari.
Fire engines from Biratnagar and Itahari, locals and police doused the fire. Investigation into the incident was underway, according to the District Police Office, Sunsari.
