Kathmandu, May 12: U.S. Ambassador to Nepal Dean R. Thompson today attended a special wreath laying ceremony in remembrance of the six US Marines and two Nepali Rangers killed while medically evacuating five injured Nepali citizens after the 2015 earthquake.
The ceremony was organised by the U.S. Embassy’s Defense Attaché Office at the Nepal Army Museum. “Even as we mourn and honor the heroes we lost, we continue the important work they set out to do – supporting Nepal and the Nepali people’s recovery in tough times, and partnering with Nepal on disaster risk mitigation efforts,” according to the U.S. Embassy in Nepal.
