Kathmandu, Nepal — In a colorful celebration of Nepali Nepali culture and unity, U.S. Embassy representatives Public Affairs Chief Mike Harker and Cultural Affairs Officer Erica Alexander joined more than 40 U.S. government (USG) exchange alumni to mark their first-ever Tihar festival.
The event was filled with lively deusi-bhailo performances, as well as traditional treats like sel roti and anarsa, bringing the warmth and festivity of Tihar to everyone in attendance.

Through leadership, community service, and sustainable development initiatives, these alumni are making significant strides in areas like education, public health, and environmental sustainability, contributing to Nepal’s progress.
The event underscored the shared commitment between the United States and Nepal to strengthen cross-cultural ties and foster sustainable development.
