Kathmandu The U.S. Embassy in Nepal, in collaboration with Astitwa Nepal, inaugurated the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence under the theme: Empower, Educate, Enforce: Bridging Practice and Policy to Prevent Gender-Based Violence.
Cultural Affairs Officer Erica Alexander officially launched the campaign, delivering opening remarks that laid the groundwork for meaningful dialogue. A panel discussion held at Thames International College brought together students and professionals from various fields to discuss strategies for addressing gender-based violence effectively.
Over the 16-day period, the campaign will highlight this critical issue through diverse initiatives, including social media outreach, partnerships with Nepali actors and influencers, film screenings, and other community-driven activities.
The campaign seeks to inspire action, raise awareness, and foster collaboration toward ending gender-based violence and promoting a safer, more equitable society.
