Biratnagar, Nov 30: Chief Minister of Koshi Province Hikmat Kumar Karki highlighted the need for strengthening the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), the State-run national news agency.

In a meeting with the RSS Executive Chairperson Dharmendra Jha here this morning, CM Karki emphasized the importance of consolidating the only state-run news agency in the country that has been disseminating national and international news round-the-clock.

The CM, acknowledging the contributions of the RSS towards the nation since its establishment in 2018 BS, appreciated the news agency’s role in serving the best interest of the country and citizens.

He further commended, “The RSS has expanded news services in various national languages in the recent times. It has been publicizing the works carried out by the State. This is highly appreciative the RSS should give continuity to such creative efforts.”

Articulating readiness of the provincial government to collaborate with the RSS, he pledged utmost cooperation and support for the RSS to enhance its services.

Similarly, RSS Chairperson Jha briefed CM Karki about the news production of the RSS and discussed potential areas of cooperation between the RSS and the Province government.
