Kathmandu– The Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and Millennium Challenge Account Nepal (MCA-Nepal) have launched a groundbreaking initiative to revolutionize road maintenance in Nepal, introducing advanced technologies designed to enhance road quality, safety, and longevity.
As part of the MCC Nepal Compact, a $500 million grant partnership between the United States and Nepal, the Road Maintenance Project has entered its procurement phase, marking a major milestone toward improving the country’s transportation infrastructure.
The project integrates cutting-edge techniques to extend the lifespan of roads, reduce maintenance costs, and ensure safer travel, aiming to boost regional connectivity and support sustainable economic growth.
In collaboration with the Government of Nepal, MCA-Nepal’s efforts align with the country’s vision for resilient infrastructure and better access to trade, healthcare, and education.
The initiative promises to transform thousands of miles of roads, connecting remote areas to key economic hubs, with a focus on long-term development and community benefits.
