Lumbini, Feb 26: The Revenue Department has filed a case against two persons involved in illegal import of various goods used for packaging alcohol.

The packaging items were imported by evading customs. The packaging items cost millions of rupees.

The Revenue Investigation Office, Butwal informed that two persons were filed the case, claiming the recovery of Rs 52 million and fine for evading customs. The items imported illegally were the lids of bottled drinks.

Office chief Bibek Ghimire informed that those arrested and filed case were Sashank Khanal of Belhiya, Siddharthanagar-1; and Ramesh Gautam of Chaurideurali rural municipality-4, Kavrepalanchowk. The case was filed at Butwal bench of High Court, Tulsipur.

They were sued in line with Revenue Leakage (Investigative and Control) Act, 2052.
