Mustang : The World Tourism Day was observed in Mustang, the religious and touristic district, by organising various events.
The Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), Jomsom and Lomanthang-based offices separately organised the programmes to mark the Day.
On the occasion, domestic and international tourists were welcomed at Jomsom, Ghansa and Lomanthang by offering khada and flower. Assistant for Natural Resource Conservation at ACAP, Jomsom, Deepak Oli said foreign tourists who arrived at Jomsom Airport at Gharpajhong Rural Municipality-3 were welcomed by playing local music.
The ACAP, Jomsom, organised the programme with coordination and collaboration with Puthang Mothers Group and Jomsom Women Group, he added.
Similarly, different programmes including dialogue with tourists was held as well as the tourists were briefed about cultural, religious and touristic destinations in the district, said Office Chief of ACAP, Lomanthang, Umesh Poudel.
With the arrival of tourists, tourism entrepreneurs in Mustang district are hopeful of their business revival, which was affected after the Gen-Z protests.
Likewise, the air service along the Pokhara-Jomson route resumed from Friday, which is expected to revitalize the tourism business and activities here.
