Kathmandu, Feb 21: The Election Commission (EC) has stepped up the task of transporting ballot papers with other election materials to all electoral constituencies across the country.
As per the official information, the EC has so far delivered the ballot papers to the Sudurpaschim, Karnali and Koshi provinces. The election materials, including ballot papers are also being regularly transported to other provinces. Printing of ballots for both the first-past-the-post and proportional representation systems for the House of Representatives elections has already been completed.
For the first-past-the-post system, 20,323,000 ballot papers have been printed, packed and sent to the 165 constituencies in 77 districts. The EC had begun transporting the ballots from Karnali Province from last February 12. Then after, the EC regularly transported ballot papers to Sudurpashchim, Karnali, and Koshi provinces.
Similarly, ballot papers along with election materials are being regularly transported to Bagmati and other provinces. The EC has informed that the transportation work is underway in other provinces.
