Kathmandu, April 2: Members of the National Assembly have shared that they would provide constructive support to the newly formed government.
In the meeting of the NA held on Thursday, Krishna Prasad Sitaula of the Nepali Congress congratulated the new government and made it clear that the NC would fully support the government if it worked in favour of people.
He mentioned, “The government will be evaluated based on its activities.”
Stating that the federal democratic republic was achieved from people’s sacrifice, Madan Kumari Shah Garima of the Nepali Communist Party blamed that 100-point governance reform plan introduced by the government was incomplete.
Similarly, Prem Dangal of the CPN (UML) underlined that the government should pay attention to improving living-standard of the people as well as strengthening nationality and unity. He also congratulated the newly formed government.
Dangal, however, objected to the arrest of leaders based on the report of Karki Commission.
Supporting the government’s initiatives for good governance, Puja Chaudhary of the Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal mentioned that government’s initiative to control corruption is welcome.
Likewise, Mahantha Thakur of the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party Nepal underlined that the country was still facing various problems including unemployment. He also reminded that republic system was gained from the struggle.
Saying the investigation of Karki Commission was biased, Tul Prasad Bishwokarma of the Rastriya Janamorcha demanded a fair investigation.
On the occasion, NA Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal read out a letter received from the Office of the President regarding the formation of cabinet and assignment of responsibilities. Chair Dahal shared that the election of the Vice-Chairperson of the NA was scheduled for April 6 and election of the chairperson of the thematic committees on April 7.
The NA will meet next at 12:15 pm on April 5.
