Kathmandu: Foreign Affairs Minister Shisir Khanal has said the role of Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs) was vital for the nation’s economic prosperity.
During a meeting with a delegation of the Non-Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA) on Friday, Minister Khanal acknowledged that the agendas raised by NRNA would be gradually implemented since the demands were imperative.
On citizenship for the NRNs, Minister Khanal argued that there were some legal issues and need further studies and amendments to the laws.
Urging the NRNs to focus on mega projects in the country for economic transformation, the Foreign Affairs Minister also asked the NRNs for their institutional move in the country’s service industry.
Discussions on the occasion were held on citizenship to the NRNs, investment, labour migration and security of Nepali migrant workers abroad, the NRNA Secretariat shared.
