Damauli (Tanahu), April 27: President Ramchandra Paudel today visited his home district to lay the foundation stone for the Bhanu Literary Park, which is set to be constructed in Chundiramgha of Bhanu Municipality–4 in Tanahu.
Chundiramgha is the birthplace of Nepali Adikavi (Pioneer Poet) Bhanu Bhakta Acharya, and the park is being developed in his honor.
The detailed project report was approved by Bhanu Municipality five months ago. The local government aims to develop the site as Saptadham (Seven Abodes). According to the approved master plan, the project is estimated to cost around Rs 1 billion.
Mayor Ananda Raj Tripathi stated that, for the current fiscal year, the Urban Development Ministry at the federal level has allocated Rs 2 million. This budget will be used to upgrade and blacktop a motorable road from Shikhar Kateri to Ramgha Danda. Likewise, the construction a 54-foot-tall statue of the Adikavi is planned for the site.
Around 400 ropani of land (one ropani equals 5,476 square feet) has already been acquired for the project. Its implementation is expected to promote cultural, tourism, and research activities in the area.
As Mayor Tripathi said, the initiative aims to develop Chundiramgha as a significant tourist destination, highlighting it as the birthplace of Acharya.
The park will include several features, such as a model village representing the era of Bhanubhakta, a literary village, a temple, an academy building, a botanical garden, picnic spots, a heritage conservation area, and a literary retreat.
So far, Rs 1.8 million has been spent on the project over the past two fiscal years.
