KATHMANDU: Economist Dr Swarnim Wagle has announced to quit Nepali Congress.
Wagle has announced to quit the party in a letter addressed to Dr Shekhar Koirala, the leader of the non-establishment faction of the NC.
Koirala’s secretariat has confirmed that Wagle has left the party.
Wagle has also confirmed that he has quitted the party writing in social media Facebook.
Wagle, an economist associated with the NC, is currently holding a meeting with the officials including RSP chairman Rabi Lamichhane.
RSP will field Wagle, if the meeting turns out to be positive, in the by-election to be held in Tanahun-1 on April 27.
