Kathmandu, June 12: Lawmakers have demanded formation of a parliamentary probe committee to settle the dispute related to finance bill.

At the outset of today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, Barsha Man Pun of the Nepali Communist Party mentioned that there was no alternative to accept the ‘weaknesses’ seen in the presented finance bill for coming fiscal year.

Sharing that any-type of manipulation in the bill is not allowed after its registration in the parliament, Pun, who is also the former Finance Minister, asked for the formation of a parliamentary committee to investigate into the matter.

He stressed that the sovereign parliament should not be devalued.
Saying the ruling parties and opposition parties should stand together on the issues of nation and nationality, Bharat Bahadur Khadka of the Nepali Congress opined that Nepal-India border problems should be settled at the earliest.

Likewise, Harka Raj Rai of the Shram Sansktiti Party said that he has got the information that Nepali citizens have been subjected to harassment by the Indian Seema Surakshya Bal in Susta, adding that no unwanted activities should take place there.

CPN (UML)’s Guru Prasad Baral underlined that Nepali territory– Limpiyadhura, Lipulek, and Kalapani area – should be incorporated to Nepal through the diplomatic channel while Khushbu Oli of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party laid emphasis on the need of taking effective efforts to resolve the Nepal-India border dispute at the earliest.
