Kathmandu, July 26: Heavy rainfall is anticipated in certain areas of the hilly and Himalayan regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, due to ongoing influence of Monsoon winds.
The Meteorological Forecasting Division has indicated that the low-pressure line of the monsoon is around its normal position, leading to mostly clear weather in the Terai region of Koshi, while other areas are experiencing varying weather conditions.
Moderate rain is being reported in parts of Koshi, Bagmati, and Karnali provinces, as well as isolated areas in Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces. The forecast suggests a likelihood of moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in the Himalayan and hilly regions, particularly affecting the Terai of Bagmati, Gandaki, Koshi, Madhes, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces.
There is also a risk of heavy rain in select locations within the hilly and Himalayan areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces. The weather is expected to remain unstable throughout the night, with similar conditions persisting across the country.
The Division has issued a cautionary note regarding the increased risk of landslides and other hazards due to the anticipated heavy rainfall, which may disrupt daily life, agriculture, health services, tourism, and transportation as well.
