Rasuwa : President Ramchandra Paudel today visited the areas affected by the flood in the Bhotekoshi river in Rasuwa on August 26.
He observed the flood-affected areas including Rasuwagadhi, Timmure, Ghattekhola, Syaphrubesi, Hakubesi, Mailung, Kaidaltar, Pahirebesi, Betrawati, and Upper Trishuli Three ‘A’ and ‘B’.

After the inspection, President Paudel acquired information about the search, rescue, and relief efforts in the affected areas from Chief District Officer Kamal Prasad Pandey and Nepali Army’s 6th Battalion Commander Ujwal Bikram Rana at the programme held in the district headquarters Dhunche.
In this connection, the President instructed the bodies concerned to continue search, rescue, and relief programmes more effectively, according to Chief District Officer Pandey.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that 169 bodies have been collected from different areas of Rasuwa after the flood and sent to Nuwakot for management. According to Assistant Chief District Officer Dhruva Prasad Acharya, 1,085 people rescued from the district have been sheltered in various holding centres in Nuwakot.

So far 1,365 locals from the district, 1,160 people from other areas, 264 foreign tourists, 26 bank employees, 79 government employees, 27 Nepali Army personnel, 28 Nepal Police personnel, and 13 Armed Police Force personnel are missing due to the flood.

The flood has damaged 11 schools, 28 government and public buildings, 1,500 private houses, 15 banks, one petrol pump, eight hydropower projects, six concrete bridges, eight Bailey bridges, 10 suspension bridges, and 41 km of road completely in the district. The injured are being treated in various hospitals in Kathmandu.
