Kathmandu, Sept 25: Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shisir Khanal, held a bilateral meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Australia, Penny Wong, while attending a high-level session of the United Nations General Assembly today.
At the meeting held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, they discussed various topics concerning mutual interest and Nepal-Australia relations, Minister Khanal’s secretariat informed.
Matters related to the loss of life and property caused by the recent floods in Nepal and the ongoing rescue, relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction efforts were also discussed on the occasion.
Khanal expressed gratitude for international support to Nepal’s efforts for post-disaster recovery and reconstruction.
During the meeting, the Ministers also discussed strengthening the existing friendly relations between Nepal and Australia and expanding areas of bilateral cooperation.
