KATHMANDU: The US Embassy in Kathmandu has extended Friendship Day to all Nepal.
Meanwhile,The Bilateral relationship with the United States has turned 76 years.
Nepal and the United States of America (US) established diplomatic relations between them on 25 April 1947. The US is the second country, only after the UK, with which Nepal established diplomatic relations.
Nepal established its Embassy in Washington D.C. on 3 February 1958. On 6 August 1959, American Embassy in Kathmandu was opened. A number of Nepal’s honorary consuls have been appointed in various US cities.
On the occasion of the Friendship Day US embassy in Nepal has sent a message through social media. The Embassy wrote on Facebook “The foundation of the U.S.-Nepal friendship is our people-to-people ties and mutual respect for each other. Today we celebrate our enduring bond and are proud of our accomplishments as diplomatic partners in tackling issues like the climate crisis, natural disaster response and relief, and strengthening democracy. We look forward to many more decades of friendship.”
