KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Election Commission (EC) is publishing the draft list of candidates for the November 20 elections today from 5 pm to 7 pm.
The EC has given the time to withdraw the candidacy on October 12 from 10 am to 1 pm and the final list of candidates will be published from 1 pm to 3 pm on October 12.
Likewise, the EC will provide election symbols to the candidates from 4 pm on the same day (October 12).
The EC has already established 165 election officers with 77 chief returning officers and 88 returning officers for the election to be held on November 20.
According to the EC, the total number of voters for the November 20 elections is almost 18 million.
EC Spokesperson Shaligram Sharma said the final details would be released shortly as the candidacy nomination process is still ongoing in some constituencies.
Some 1,600 candidates have lodged their nomination for 165 posts for member of the House of Representatives (HoR) while some 2,000 candidates are for 330 provincial assembly members.
