KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Election Commission (EC) has said 57 political parties filed their candidacies under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) category for the election to the House of Representatives on November 20.
The parties have fielded 1,433 male and 150 female candidates for the election to the HoR.
Meanwhile, 943 independent candidates (858 male and 85 female) have registered their candidacies for the election.
Altogether, 2,526 people (2,291 male and 235 female) filed their nominations towards FPTP for HoR member, according to the EC.

701 candidates: 619 male and 82 female

217 candidates: 237 male and 34 female

Karnali Pradesh
143 candidates: 139 male and four female
Sudur Paschim Pradesh
226 candidates: 212 male and 14 female
The data was published on the basis of details entered in the system of EC till Monday evening, according to the EC.
