Kathmandu, Dec 21: Seven Summit Treks, a leading Kathmandu-based trekking and expedition company, has donated relief materials to the Jajarkot earthquake victims.

The materials worth thousands of rupee through 100s Group Nepal, a volunteer organisation of youths dedicated to help people in need. The Group has opened clothes banks at many places across the country with the aim of providing them to the needy for free.

The trekking agency handed over the materials including jackets, pants, thermals and cooking items to the Group amid a function here.

“SST’s initiative is as part of its corporate social responsibility. We hope this small contribution helps relieve the pain during chilly winter. We are thankful to our team for the kindness, and pray that the quake-hit Jajarkot collects itself and raises,” said SST manager Thaneswar Guragai.  It also thanked its Sherpas and staffs for coming together to collect the relief materials.

At least 153 people were killed, and 364 others injured in the 6.4 magnitude earthquake on November 3. According to the Nepal Emergency Operation Centre under the Ministry of Home Affairs, the quake damaged more than 26,500 houses fully and over 35,000 partially.
