Kathmandu, May 27: The Australian Embassy has extended congratulations to Prime Minister of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal and the Ministry of Forests and Environment for the International Expert Dialogue on Mountains, People and Climate Change from 22-23 May. This dialogue built on Nepal’s leadership globally in relation to the mountain agenda and preserving the third pole.
“As we live daily with the impacts of the climate crisis, this dialogue sought greater cooperation and practical action to support mountain environments and all who depend on them,” it said on social media.
At the event, Ambassador Felicity Volk said, “Global leadership on climate change must address the intersection of gender equality, social inclusion, youth and the empowerment of vulnerable communities. Inclusion and effective alliances across all stakeholder groups must be at the heart of our efforts.”
