Kathmandu, Aug 8: Australian Ambassador to Nepal, Felicity Volk has expressed gratitude for the opportunity to reflect on the bilateral relationships between Australia and Nepal. She did so during an interaction with representatives of the Nepal Institute for International Cooperation and Engagement – NIICE, including Director Pramod Jaiswal.
Stating that people-to-people links are the foundation for the two countries’ relationships, the ambassador highlighted the contribution of over 180,000 Nepali diaspora members, including 56,000 students, to the Australian society. for the opportunity to reflect on the bilateral relationship, dynamics in our region and my time in Nepal.
“We value our Nepali diaspora for the many ways they enrich Australian society.”
She also admitted things like complementary tourism industries, a strong trade and investment relationship, and our shared interest in a stable, prosperous and resilient Indo-Pacific region, as main contributors to the bilateral ties.
“I have been privileged to see ties between Australia and Nepal strengthened in recent years, and am confident our two countries will develop even deeper bonds in the years to come.”
