Kathmandu, Sept 3: The Kaski district police have launched an investigation against chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rabi Lamichhane, in a cooperative case. Eighteen people including Lamichhane, also former Home Minister, have been accused of involvement in misappropriating millions of rupees from Suryadarshan cooperative in Pokhara.
A probe committee formed by Pokhara Metropolitan City submitted the report, and lodged a complaint against Lamichhane for the second time.
According to a source, the police recorded statements from four of the accused, including Lamichhane, in connection with the cooperative scam. A Kaski police team reached Kathmandu for the purpose, it has been said. It also raided the office of Galaxy TV where Lamichhane worked in the past.
