USA, Sept 4: The U.S. court has refused to grant bail to Babisingh Shah, who was arrested on the charge of shooting a Nepali girl, Muna Pandey, to death in the United States. Shah was presented in the court on September 3. A news portal run by Nepali journalists in the US, has reported the court’s refusal to grant bail against Shah saying there was sufficient evidence of murder.
In the details submitted to the court, Shah is of Indian origin and his birth place is not clear. It is said that he does not even have American citizenship. It has been reported that Shah went to Muna’s apartment with the intention of robbery, and shot her dead at the same time.
Apart from the murder case, he will also be tried in the case of possessing illegal weapons, it has been said. He will be again produced in court on September 5 in the case of the murder. Shah, 51, was arrested based on the information received after the incident of murder became public.
Pandey, 21, a Nepali student, originally from Bhojpur, was found killed in her apartment in Houston, Texas, USA. She had gone to the US in 2021 for further studies.
