Kathmandu : The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has accomplished the entire targets set for the first 100 days of the current government.
Ministry’s Joint Secretary Gajendra Kumar Thakur said that the targets and responsibilities given to the Ministry were achieved thanks to the promptness of Minister and Government’s Spokesperson Prithvi Subba Gurung and Ministry’s Secretary Radhika Aryal as well as the officials’ sound work performance.
During the talks with the RSS today, Joint Secretary Thakur said that all 15 jobs given to the Ministry were completed in time.
The operation of the round-the-clock news service of RSS, the establishment of RSS Museum and the beginning of news services in the Maithili and Nepal Bhasa languages were completed as per the 100-day plan of action of the Ministry.
Likewise, news dissemination in the Rana Tharu language in Gorkhapatra Daily, the beginning of news service in the Danuwar language in Radio Nepal, expansion of fibre to the home (FTTH), expansion of fixed fibre service, mobile phone service, increasing the users of 4G (LTE) to 72 per cent population and others were also completed during the 100 days of the government.
According to Thakur, the achievement of such jobs was not an easy job amid geographical challenges and limited resources but this all became successful due to encouragement from the minister and secretary as well as the officials’ hard work.
Thakur argued that this achievement was the outcome of collective efforts and added that the Ministry is required to ensure effective and quality service delivery in the upcoming quarter.
