KARNALI – The U.S. Embassy in Nepal, in partnership with the Karnali Provincial Assembly and the Hriti Foundation, has inaugurated the second cohort of the Youth in Policy and Governance (YPG) fellowship.
The program was officially launched by U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Chief Mike Harker and Nanda Gurung, Speaker of the Karnali Provincial Assembly, during a special event held in Karnali Province.
This groundbreaking initiative aims to empower 50 young leaders from all ten districts of the province, equipping them with hands-on training in public policy, legislative processes, and governance.
Through this program, participants will gain the skills necessary to actively contribute to policymaking and governance, paving the way for impactful leadership in their communities.
The YPG fellowship represents a unique collaboration between the U.S. Embassy, the local government, and the Hriti Foundation, demonstrating a shared commitment to fostering democratic values and promoting youth engagement in governance.
Now in its second cohort, the program continues to inspire and prepare Nepal’s youth to shape policies that will benefit their nation, further strengthening the democratic framework of the country.
