A total of 48 prisoners languished at the Nuwakot district jail were relocated while bringing the new central jail into operation.

The process of bringing prisoners from the surrounding districts is also underway. “In the next few days, necessary preparations for the management of prisoners at its full capacity will be taken to the final stage,” he said.

Director General of the Department of Prison Management Narayan Prasad Bhattarai informed that the inmates of the central jail (Jagannath Deval), Nakkhu Jail Lalitpur and Dillibazar Jail Kathmandu) are being shifted.
