Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has said the role and responsibility of the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) has further increased for the dissemination of fact-based information among the citizens. In a message of best wishes on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the RSS, the Vice-President expressed his hope the RSS would prove its caliber to further enhance credibility by updating and diversifying its services as per the need of time.
According to the Vice-President, the present time is the era of information and technology and the ‘power of information is incomparable’. He expressed his belief that the well-informed citizens are always empowered and citizens’ access to credible information will contribute to further improving good governance and democracy.
The Vice-President expects the communications sector to play a role of a watchdog against corruption, misconducts, discrimination and raise voices for citizens’ rights, equity and freedom. He also extends best wishes to all Nepali citizens on the occasion of the National Democracy Day-2079 BS that commemorates abolishing of Rana regime through the people’s movement.
