Kathmandu – The Government of Japan has signed an agreement to provide a grant assistance of 250 million Japanese yen (approximately 231 million Nepali rupees) to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Nepal. This support aims to enhance livelihoods and strengthen disaster resilience in areas affected by the Jajarkot earthquake in November 2023.
During the signing ceremony at the Embassy of Japan in Kathmandu, Ambassador Maeda expressed his hope that the project will help improve the lives of the people in Jajarkot and West Rukum, making them more resilient to natural disasters.
He also stated that the project’s completion in 2026 will add further significance to the celebration of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Nepal
