Nawalparasi : Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Paudel assured of full reimbursement to the hospitals for providing treatment under insurance scheme within mid-September this year. Inaugurating the Deurali Primary Hospital at Jhyalbas of Hupsekot rural municipality-4 in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta Purba) on Sunday, Minister Paudel explained that the remaining payment to hospitals will be ensured in two installments.
The 5-bed newly inaugurated Deurali Primary Hospital has started its operation from Sunday itself. Urging the hospitals and citizens to effectively utilize the insurance schemes to expand healthcare services in the country, the Minister called on all the health institutions to consider spending 30 to 40 percent of the amount received for insurance to expand healthcare services.
On a different note, he asserted the public trust in the public health facilities had grown considerably lately. Noting that resource constraints cannot handle the increasing patients’ flow in the government hospitals, he shared that the government aimed to equip and upgrade primary hospitals at all local levels with modern facilities. He also informed that 48 public hospitals across the country had begun healthcare services from newly constructed buildings since July 17.
The Minister vowed to provide with adequate resources to the health facilities running under the local level governments. The State had provided lump sum discount to provide concession to the citizens in the treatment of various complicated diseases.
Minister Paudel viewed the citizens would not be able to feel the impact of the republican system if there were no improvement in healthcare services. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to rope in every citizen in the health insurance programme, thereby providing them healthcare services at a reasonable and affordable cost.
