Rasuwa, Aug 6: Health camp has been conducted in Gosainkunda, a popular pilgrimage site. On the occasion of the Janai Purnima festival, the Himalayan Rescue Association has run the health camp at the sacred religious site, Gosainkunda, to provide primary healthcare services to devotees visiting the area.
Association’s Executive Director Govinda Basyal informed that HRA is running the camp on the shores of Gosainkunda by devising a team of specialist doctors equipped with oxygen.
At least 110 people have so far received primary treatment, he shared. The team of health professionals, led by Dr Padam Joshi, comprises six specialist doctors and a health technician. Located at an altitude of 4,380 meters above the sea level, the pilgrimage site of Gosainkunda has seen patients suffering from breathing complications. They are being treated with oxygen therapy, Director Basyal informed.
The organization, which has been providing medical services to pilgrims at Gosainkunda for over 25 years, has started the camp on Tuesday for this season.
The Gosainkunda Area Development Committee stated that the Association is helping pilgrims with healthcare service through the camp. Team leader Dr Joshi urged the travelers not to get worried of sickness as the Association has all necessary equipments and oxygen available, and encouraged them to reach out the free health camp being operated at Gosainkunda.
