Kathmandu : The hearing of the writ registered against Prime Minister KP Sharma Ol- led incumbent government will be held in full bench of the Supreme Court.
While citing it a constitutional matter, a divisional bench of Justice duo, Til Prasad Shrestha and Shreekanta Paudel, issued the order to undertake hearing over the writ that was registered demanding PM Oli-led government be declared ‘caretaker’ following the hearing.

“As the complex constitutional question of the interpretation of Nepal Constitution’s Article 100 (2) is appeared to have included in the writ petition, present it to the full bench as per the Supreme Court Regulation, 2074’s rule 23(2).

The court also ordered to take out the letter of support lent to the political parties submitted during the formation of the incumbent government in 16 July 2024 from the Office of the President.

Likewise, in the order, the apex court has ordered to take out details from parliament secretariat reflecting vote score based on the political parties that had cast vote of trust to the incumbent government on 21 July 2024.

The court also instructed to produce documents from the offices of different political parties regarding the decisions made by Nagarik Unmukti Party, Janata Samadjwaad Party (Ashok Rai) and Samajwadi Party (Upendra Yadav) in connection with granting vote of confidence on 21 July 2024.

Advocate Birendra KC had registered the writ at the SC demanding PM Oli be ordered to take vote of confidence from the House of Representatives within 30 days in the context when Janata Samajwadi Party and Nagarik Unmukti Party withdrew their support to the government.
